Every piece is woven once. The shapes are asymmetric, never repeated, decided by the hands that make them. If it exists in your size, it is yours alone. If it doesn't, we cut it to your measurements.

Six to eight weeks, and you'll know where it is at every stage.

She will be asked where she got it.

Craftsmanship

Paja toquilla is the straw of the Ecuadorian coast, split from the young leaves of the toquilla palm and woven by hand in the towns around Montecristi. The same fibre has been worked there for generations into the finest hats in the world. GALAP sets it into cloth. Each panel is woven to the shape of the garment it will join, then cut and sewn in our New York atelier. No two weaves are identical; the variation is the signature of the hand.
