Story

A cropped collarless jacket over high-waisted flared trousers in emerald crepe. The straw is at the buttons only — gold, with a woven centre, four at the placket and four at each cuff. The only suit in the collection.
Craftsmanship

Paja toquilla is the straw of the Ecuadorian coast, split from the young leaves of the toquilla palm and woven by hand in the towns around Montecristi. The same fibre has been worked there for generations into the finest Panama hats in the world. GALAP sets it into cloth. Each panel is woven to the shape of the garment it will join, then cut and sewn in our New York atelier. No two weaves are identical; the variation is the signature of the hand.
